MATERIAL THINKING2026
“Material Thinking” was a university assignment where I had to choose an everyday object and turn it into something graphic design related. I chose metal nails and screws and started experimenting with them in different ways (scanning, rusting, graffitii, paint and other techniques) to see what I could create from such a simple material.
The final project consists of two typefaces and two booklets. One of the typefaces was created by arranging and scanning the nails directly, while the other came from the rust marks left behind by the metal.
One booklet focuses on the typefaces and the process behind them, while the second is more experimental, almost like a collection of tests and textures I created while working with the material.
